Hi! I hope you have had a wonderful week - we're halfway to the weekend! Huzzah!
We had a wonderful weekend at Palm Coast with friends, who were gracious enough to open their home to us. As you can see from the picture, Tropical Storm Isaac made it impossible for us to go to the beach at all, let alone swimming. However, where we were staying is on an inlet, so we were able to hang out on the dock.
We spent a good deal of our time fishing. Josh, {aka mountain boy} had never been rod-and-reel fishing before, which I {cruelly, I admit} found humorous. I think he enjoyed himself, though - he stood out in the rain for at least forty-five minutes to fish before we left.

This has also been the first week back to school for us, which has gone really well so far. I'm teaching two subjects this year, which should be a lot of fun. We have a pretty good structure right now, and things seem to flow nicely from one thing to the next. The kids have been so excited about all of their school supplies, since they have been bringing in bags of paper, pencils, tissues, and an assortment of other materials. But the most exciting thing for them to bring into school this year has been their pencil boxes.
Yep, pencil boxes. The kids just can't wait to show them off. Being an elementary school teacher is such a blessing - they can turn something as small as a pencil box into a source of joy and confidence. I know several adults who have lost the ability to find something to celebrate {embrace, enjoy, etc} in the every day.
