Evaluation Week

We're back from evaluation in Arizona!! If you were following the Faceook page, then you already know that we passed the evaluation!! Praise the Lord!!

On our way to McNeal, we spent nine unexpected hours in the Dallas/Fort Worth airport because our flight was late (and we were bumped from standby to standby three times) - thanks American Airlines; and Josh had been awake for more than 24 hours by the time we pulled into the driveway. To pass the time, we rode the shuttle around the whole airport three times, and met a lovely lady who actually supports missionaries with NTM who serve in PNG. It's a small, small world.

The actual evaluation consisted of five flights with three different NTMA pilots/instructors to determine Josh's ability to adapt to new situations, people, and airplanes; as well as a series of interviews where we shared our testimonies and talked about NTMA's goals, and where we stood theologically.

Since I was not being evaluated on my flying {thank goodness!}, I was able to explore the center, visit yard sales and the mission barrel, and make a lot of new friends. Every day we were invited to somebody's house for lunch and dinner - so we got to meet more people, and make more new friends - however, all our hard work at the gym was erased by their good cooking!

It was wonderfully refreshing to be surrounded by so many people who love and serve the Lord in their every day lives, even just by serving lunch to a couple of hungry evaluee's.

So now, we're looking at a lot of paperwork over the next couple of months, and we're looking at being in the field by November 2013 or sooner. But don't worry, you guys will be right there with us through it all. :)
